Non-degree Programmes
Short-term Non-degree Regular Programme
This programme is intended for international students, who wish to spend a term or two at the FAAS attending classes, which they have chosen from amongst those courses available at that time. All international students are eligible for admission to this programme. Applications may be made for Autumn or Spring Terms. The total academic load is 20 hours a week. Non-degree students will attend classes together with students following degree programmes.
Study and Research Non-degree Regular Programme
This programme is intended for international students and researchers wishing to stay in the Faculty for a month or longer to carry out research and attend classes. All international students or researchers are eligible for admission to this programme. Applications are welcome for any time of the academic year. Those admitted to this programme may attend any of the classes available in the Faculty at the time (up to a maximum of 20 hours per week). A leading expert in the field of the student’s research will be assigned as his/her academic advisor. The advisor may be chosen from amongst the Faculty members or from external staff who work in other academic or research institutions in St. Petersburg. All applicants are advised to inform the Faculty about the sphere of their scientific interests in advance.
Individual Non-regular Programme
Individual training and research programmes can be arranged by negotiation with the Faculty to meet the specific needs of an applicant. Applications are welcome at any time of the academic year. The cost of such a programme will depend on its academic load, duration, and the cost of any other services provided by the Faculty to meet the applicant’s requirements.
Language Courses
Any of the Asian or African languages taught in the Faculty can be studied as separate subjects or in combination with other area or language related disciplines, either in small study groups or taught individually. This option is available throughout the year. Tuition fees will be calculated according to the academic load.
