13 Tsankova A. D. | Quantitative Survey on the Correlation of Basic Factors for the Functioning... analysis, considering that the conditions of the intuitive usage are mostly close to real speech conditions. The research procedures were carried out in the following steps: Stage I Experimental surveys Variant I: Minimal intuitive usage (20 informants) All existent in the original text markers were deleted , the respondents were not informed about these changes or the aim of the study, and they had to review the text and make necessary changes according to their own language feeling as native speakers. Survey II: Maximal intuitive usage (10 informants) Aspect-tense markers 了 , 过 and 着 were inserted in all positions of possible appearance (post-verbal and sentence-final positions), the respondents were not informed about these changes or the aim of the study, and they had to review the text and make necessary changes according to their own language feeling as native speakers. Stage II Indexing of the observed positions All the potential positions of appearance of the markers (post-verbal and phrase-final, 1062 in total) are indexed in the two variants, evaluating the degree of identical marking/unmarking of every position (ranging from 0% to 100 %) according to the intuitive choice of the native speakers. Stage III Factors definition and indexing A set of basic linguistic factors that may be relevant to the function- ing of the aspect-tense markers was defined (based on Yakhontov 1957: 73–114, Solntseva 1982, Korotkov 1968: 206–266, Li & Thompson 1981: 184–299, Shutova 1982, Xiao, McEnery 2004: 18–88, Ljungqvist 2007, etc.), as follows: 1. Position of marking: 1.1. Post-verbal 1.2. Phrase-final 2. Type of predicate: 2.1. Telic 2.2. Atelic
