URL: http://www.jstor.com (дата обращения: 21.12.2022) Quranic Magic Seal (Nigeria, 2018) Abstract: The article provides a detailed analysis of the Quranic magic seal acquired by the author for the collection of the MAE RAS during an expedition to Nigeria in 2018. The article analyzes the cultural context of the functioning of Quranic magical objects, reflecting the syncretism of Islam and traditional beliefs. Also presented is a philological analysis of arabographic inscriptions on the amulet, classified by the author as an example of a text belonging to the genre of “social medicine”.
