Судан и Большой Ближний Восток
252 III. Судан и его соседи mentions that “few of the Baghirmi can afford ‘ Kaskara ’ (Swords)”, but provides no drawing neither description. Iain Norman argues that Dankali sword published by Burton is “ kaskara ”, but it is not quite exact, as the latter specifically mentioned that the Dankali sword “broadens towards the point” (see Burton’s drawing, Fig. 15); besides, the guard has no typical Sudanese languet projecting down the blade; though the grip and cross-guard are similar was derived — almost verbatim — from the Barth’s book: Vol. 3. New York: D. Appleton and Co., 1857. P. 450–451). Fig. 13. Kaskara from G. C. Stone’s book ‘A Glossary of the Construction, Decoration and Use of Arms and Armor’
